ABOUT
Kiwese is a website about independent and underground arts and culture, as well as a music promotion agency run by Kristen Ng, a New Zealander living in Chengdu. Kiwese aims to contribute to “meaningful connections through arts, music, travel and culture; rather than ties based merely on the potential for bettering the economy.”
The Kiwese website features Ng’s writing on a wide range of subjects, including album reviews, artist interviews, and odes to shuttered venues, as well as commentary about history, politics, identity and Ng’s life in China.
Since 2015, Kiwese has organised tours of China for several bands from Aotearoa, including Orchestra of Spheres, Lady Lazer Light, and WOMB.
