Workshop
Join Soil of Cultures to create miniature rafts using banana tree branches. These rafts depict the survival and connection of migrants and refugees to their motherland. Participants are invited to share their migration stories and personalise their rafts. Snacks and materials will be provided. Open to all ages.
This workshop is a collaboration with Migrante Aotearoa and part of Soil of Cultures’ exhibition Sometimes, the Heart Yearns for Bananas which seeks to raise awareness about the phenomenon of forced migration across the Global South.
The show opens at Te Tuhi on Saturday 8 February and runs from 9 February to 13 April 2025.
No registration required.
